Perhaps men are more aware of it than women, which is ironic since men seem to tolerate messes more readily—well. Maybe that isn’t true either. Or maybe it just changes after college who knows (have you ever seen a girls dorm room? Or, like, the dorm where more than one girl lives? It’s bad man. It’s bad). The frank commentary on male and female cleanliness aside it is something that that everyone tends to notice—humans shed. We slough off huge amounts of skin cells continually, everywhere we go. And we constantly dump hair as well. Guys more in the shower starting in the early twenties (whether you’re on rogain or not), and girls endlessly.
This much human waste can cause nightmares for those among us afflicted with OCD. Yet while there is no reason for so much worry, it is a good idea to try to keep things a little cleaner. Houses, due to diminished airflow, actually contain much more dust and debris than outside unless you do work to combat it.
One great idea is to get a filter fan to pull the particles and cells out of the air. A good vacuum, used regularly, is another great investment. If you are an allergy sufferer, however, a normal vacuum might not do as the tiniest particles are actually stirred up and not captured by the machine. Consider a central vacuum as it will pull all the air outside when used. You should also consider allergen bedding, a thin cover that goes under your sheets so that your skin cells stay out of your bed, keeping growth of mites down and letting you wash everything away when you do laundry. Dusting regularly with a damp rag is also a must.
