About Us

Cynthia I. Gabriel, PT, DPT, MS

Dr. Gabriel graduated from Brigham Young University in 1979 before receiving her Certificate in Physical Therapy from the University of Pennsylvania in 1980. She subsequently received a Master's degree in exercise physiology in 1987 from the University of Utah. She completed her transitional clinical doctorate degree in physical therapy March 2008. This is NOT an educational track Ph.D. degree but rather like a medical track clinical degree, so she is a Doctor of physical therapy. Dr. Gabriel has years of extensive and wide ranged experience in acute care hospitals, regional rehabilitation and children's centers, home care, neurological rehabilitation, sports rehabilitation, geriatric, orthopedic and private practices before opening her own practice in 1991. Dr. Gabriel opened North Country Physical Therapy in December of 1994 at its present location after 3 years of private practice out of her home. Her experience and skills allow her to offer physical therapy for the entire family.

Dr. Gabriel works with the most recent evidence for treatments to bring the most effective physical therapy practice to her patients and exercise clients. She is the only therapist in this Capital Region area who uses Pain Reflex Release Technique (PRRT)in her practice.

Gail McKenna - Office Manager

Gail graduated from Adelphi University in 1984 with a Bachelors degree in behavioral psychology. She has experience in working with a wide variety of special education populations including emotionally disturbed preschoolers, psychiatrically disabled and developmentally delayed adults.

After working for many years in the mental health field, Gail decided to change her field of employment. She worked as an office manager for a surgical practice until the doctor retired in 2003, at which time she joined the staff here at North Country Physical Therapy.
